Changing the UN official language
While the GA6 took place, France came up with a very unusual amendment which would see the international law language become French since it is a "more beautiful language".
It all started with Egypt's resolution to extend junior seminars for international law. The Somalian delegate asked if other languages could be added to the seminars that are only given in French. Even though the Egyptian delegate was very cooperative, the discussion wasn't over yet. The French delegate stood up and started asking how the UN should adapt to the French language since it is the most beautiful language in the world.
The rest of the assembly was often interrupted by points of information coming from France, Canada and Vietnam about how French is the greatest language.
